Baby Elephant rescue mission is a digital breakout for 8th-9th grade students. The math content is finding volume of cylinders, cones and spheres. The questions range from:
- skills of finding volume
- application problems
- given diameter and understanding how to find radius
-solving for radius given the volume of a sphere
The student worksheet is provided. It has directions identical to the directions they will see on the computer. (Sometimes they miss directions and it's helpful to have them in two areas!)
Students are required to have multiple tabs open and be able to toggle back and forth to complete the digital breakout. They DO NOT need to submit google forms when finished.

Helpful Teacher Hints
The background colors of the google forms go in order of the rainbow. In the beginning of class it is a great visual so you will know if a student is not on the correct question.
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue etc.
Students MUST use google to look up the "clues" or trivia questions to help guide them. If they "think" they know the answer without looking it up it will lead them in the wrong order.
Student worksheet that goes along with the Digital Breakout is also in the order of the questions. I do require students to turn in their work so I can assess if there is a skill that anyone needs review with.
This Digital Breakout is a great review before the test and after all the skills in the unit have been practiced and completed.
As always I suggest you complete the digital breakout before the students are assigned the assignment.
